I live in Canada and just received the anti-static mat kit, which comes with the CEE 7/4 grounding plug. I was wondering how I can get this to work with NEMA 5-15 plugs, or if I would have to buy an adaptor or a different grounding plug entirely?
Thank you,
Shea
Hi Shea,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the CEE 7/4 grounding plug you refer to is a grounding plug for European countries, not designed for use in Canada.
I would not recommend using an adapter, as you won’t be grounded properly, defeating the purpose of the Anti-Static Mat. You will need to purchase a grounding plug which is suitable for your country. You could try a Pro Stat “Cube” on this website with a cable. Otherwise, you have to buy it in packs of 5, and you may still have to adjust the cabling that came with your kit. If the stud on the Cube’s cable is 10mm, it should snap onto the anti-static mat you already have.
I hope this helps – good luck with the set up and if you have any questions or need some advice before purchasing, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Kind regards,
Ron
